Felix Benn Vergic. (1904-1968) born to John Vegevic and Cecelia Rominska, husband to Pearl Stuckey, Father to four (Shirley, Mary (Cena), Felix (Buddy), and Kathy). As a child Felix was put on a streetcar by his father and told to go out on his own. Felix married Pearl Stuckey under the name Felix Benn. Felix worked several jobs through his life including as a “timberman” where he broke his leg and was trapped underground for several days in total darkness before being rescued, a painter in Washington where he painted the US Capital Building, as well as a handyman working odd jobs. Despite this the family was often poor. on weekends Felix would always take his children to watch the trains a love of trains that probably went back to his youth when smoke belching from the big engines pulling cars loaded with a coal were a common sight in crucible and the whistles and other sounds were heard night and day.
